Let's poke some holes in us!

Our appointment with the Creighton Travel Clinic went rather smoothly. I got the yellow fever, typhoid, meningitis, Hepatitis A, and polio vaccines, while Moises got all of the above, plus the tetanus vaccine. We are all ready vaccine-wise for our trip to Africa! We were told we need to start our malaria pills 1-2 days before we arrive, so that is on the agenda. We also have antibiotics for traveler's diarrhea in case it came to that point.

We also got our new hiking backpacks in the mail last week, and are excited to put them to use! :) We hope we will have enough space for all what we are bringing. Otherwise, we will HAVE to make space!

Word is that one of our fellow teammates, Kat, will be coming into town this weekend to visit. We are excited to meet her! Knowing that she will be spending quite some time with us, it would be a great idea to meet her in advance.

The schedule for our summer Bible camp for LDO is coming along nicely. We hope to have that finalized in the next couple weeks! We have only 28 more days before we hit the road to New York! We are sure that those days will count down quickly!

We have found a nice couple that is our age, who has a 1 1/2 year old daughter, in Zurich, Switzerland who are willing to let us stay at their apartment during our layover. We will arrive Switzerland in the morning on the 31st, and we don't depart for Kenya until the morning of the next day! We found this couple through CouchSurfing.org and they are as excited to host us as we are to visit them. We feel safer about our stay in Zurich, knowing that we have been communicating with them up until now about our plans and getting to know each other. We are also excited for them to show us around Zurich, so we can view their nature, culture, food, and way of life.

We are now at 83% of our fundraising goal; we need to fundraise $850 to be able to attend on this trip! If you are feeling generous, please make a donation! :) We appreciate your financial support as well as your thoughts and prayers for the safety and efficiency of our mission trip!

God bless you all!

A little less than two months to go...

Dear our blog readers,

We have exciting news to share with all of you. With the money that we have received through our wonderful donators, we were blessed to be able to purchase airline tickets for the both of us for the Kenya trip! This is definitely exciting news for us, as it means we are GOING on this mission trip, and there is no backing out! We want to thank God and all of you who have helped us financially to support us. We have less than two months left before we will be going to AFRICA. All this is surreal to us to be able to experience and work for God. We had a team meeting last night at Deaf Mission's boys dorm. We are mostly done with preparing activities for our Christian bible camp at LDO in Kenya. We are excited to see what the schedule will look like when it is all complete.

Vaccinations is also a big part of the trip. We want to be sure we have a SAFE trip and comply with all vaccination requirements/recommendations. The yellow fever vaccine is required prior to entering the country, and we are strongly recommended to get the Hep A/B and typhoid vaccines. There are others also suggested. We have been scheduled an appointment on the 16th of this month to receive all the vaccines we need for the trip.

Please keep praying for us! If you are curious about anything, feel free to ask us. We still are not at 100% for our fundraising goal yet. If you haven't considered donating, please do so! We would love your financial support. Thank you very much.

God bless!
