Exactly FOUR weeks...

...left before we fly out to Kenya! A few things to update about.

1) We still need your monetary support (prayers too, of course)! We have yet to purchase airfare tickets from Washington D.C. to Omaha on our returning flight. We also need $100 for visa costs ($50/person) for Moises & I when we fly into Nairobi. Donations will be much, much appreciated (and soon!)!!

2) If any of you have CLOTHING to give away, please contact us! We are looking for both adult and children clothing (for all ages and both genders). We hope to be able to donate tons of clothes again this summer! We will be taking all clothing until a few days before we fly out. 

3) At our last team meeting, each two persons has been paired up and assigned a big responsibility for our mission trip. Moises & I will be the afternoon & evening coordinators. Our list of responsibilities include coming up with different games and activities for the afternoon and evening down times. After going through last summer, the team noticed that orphans have down time after school until before dinner chores and after dinner until bedtime. The others will be split up for these responsibilities: teaching coordinators, camp coordinators, and project coordinators.

We both are truly excited for this trip and seeing these wonderful orphans again (and meeting those new ones)!

A second go at Kenya!

Hello all!

We hope you all find this post in pleasure as we tell you all that we are, indeed, going back to LDO for another round of mission work this summer! :) Since our stay last summer was so wonderful, we decided to make another trip. It was people like you who made it possible for us both to earn this experience and serve as missionaries to these 14 beautiful orphans through donations and prayers.

Shortly after we returned to the States last summer, ODO and LDO made it possible to allow the addition of SIX new orphans! We have committed our support to LDO throughout the year by donating $40 monthly, which we began the month after our return. It’s our great hope that LDO will grow into a great organization & orphanage and the orphans will receive the best treatment they can receive.

We are excited to say that we have both already purchased our round-trip airfare tickets for this summer! We are flying from Omaha to Washington, D.C. on May 30th, and flying to Nairobi the same day, with a short layover in Amsterdam. We fly back from Nairobi on July 2nd, arriving in the States on the 3rd, with an overnight layover in Amsterdam. We now need to find a host couple/family to stay with during out returning layover. 

So who all are going with us to Kenya? Alex, Alexa, Jason, Mistie, Javier, and Chris, an exchange student from Ozark Christian College. Jason & Mistie had planned on coming last year, but a baby on the way made it inconvenient. This time, they are bringing baby Jamri, who will be 9-10 months old, along for the ride! :)
