This weekend so far...

On Saturday, we all decided to visit Winston's village. Primarily to pay respects to his father who had just passed away last month of cancer. We were able to see a true Kenyan village and visit with his mother, uncle, two brothers, and some relatives. This village was a two hours drive southwest from LDO. On the way back, we decided to pull over to Homo Bay where we can see Lake Victoria up close. It was disappointing in a way because we aren't able to swim in this gorgeous scenery (Lake Victoria has flesh-eating bacteria). We snapped a few pictures, saw some odd birds, and then hit the road back to LDO.

Last night, we decided to make a classic dish for the orphans, staff, and the team: spaghetti with meat sauce and dinner rolls! Jason, Chris, and I were responsible for making the dinner, which everyone actually enjoyed! Most of the orphans wanted seconds...Pauline had quite a few plates!

Here are some pictures to enjoy!

All the orphans took an eye exam...just to be sure none of them needed medical attention. All of them passed!
