On Saturday, we all decided to visit Winston's village.
Primarily to pay respects to his father who had just passed away last
month of cancer. We were able to see a true Kenyan village and visit
with his mother, uncle, two brothers, and some relatives. This village
was a two hours drive southwest from LDO. On the way back, we decided to
pull over to Homo Bay where we can see Lake Victoria up close. It was
disappointing in a way because we aren't able to swim in this gorgeous
scenery (Lake Victoria has flesh-eating bacteria). We snapped a few
pictures, saw some odd birds, and then hit the road back to LDO.
Last
night, we decided to make a classic dish for the orphans, staff, and
the team: spaghetti with meat sauce and dinner rolls! Jason, Chris, and I
were responsible for making the dinner, which everyone actually
enjoyed! Most of the orphans wanted seconds...Pauline had quite a few
plates!
Here are some pictures to enjoy! |
